Arrival in Puerto Maldonado – Monkey Island – Night Safari
Upon arrival at the Puerto Maldonado Airport or bus terminal, our team will welcome you and transfer you to the Lodge’s office for registration. Then, board a motorized boat for a scenic one-hour ride along the Madre de Dios River to your lodge. Enjoy a refreshing fruit juice during the welcome meeting before settling into your room.
After lunch, cross the river to visit Monkey Island, a sanctuary for Capuchin monkeys and Friar monkeys. Learn about their behavior and enjoy watching them interact in their natural habitat.
As night falls, embark on an exciting night safari along the riverbanks. Equipped with a flashlight, search for white alligators resting on sandbanks and possibly spot a capybara, the world’s largest rodent. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest amidst the serene sounds of the Amazon.

Lake Sandoval Exploration – Jungle Night Walk
After breakfast, embark on a 3 km trek through the dense tropical forest to reach Lake Sandoval, located within the Tambopata National Reserve. Board a rowboat to explore the lake’s calm waters, home to an array of wildlife, including piranhas, vibrant birds like shanshos, jacanas, and cormorants, as well as monkeys such as Cotomonkeys, Friar monkeys, and Pichicos. You may also encounter giant otters, which can grow up to 2 meters long, and large alligators, some over 4 meters in length.
Return to the lodge for a traditional Amazonian lunch. In the evening, join a jungle night walk, where you’ll spot nocturnal creatures such as insects, amphibians, reptiles, and other animals that come alive under the cover of darkness. Afterward, enjoy dinner and relax at the lodge.

Canopy Walkway – Zipline Adventure – Artisanal Fishing
Start your day early with a short trek to the Canopy Walkway, a suspension bridge 30 meters above the ground. From this height, enjoy panoramic views of the Madre de Dios River and observe birds such as toucans, macaws, tanagers, and orioles as they greet the morning.
After breakfast, prepare for an adrenaline-pumping zipline adventure through the treetops. With guidance from an instructor, learn to use the safety harness and slide through the forest canopy, an exhilarating way to experience the Amazon from above.
After lunch, try your hand at artisanal fishing along the Madre de Dios River. With patience and luck, you may catch species like catfish or palometas. Later, embark on a kayak trip across the river, soaking in the stunning sunset to end your adventurous day.
