Our adventure to the breathtaking Laguna 69 begins with an early morning departure from Huaraz at 5:00 am. Embracing the stillness of dawn, we set off northward, anticipating a day filled with natural wonders and Andean culture.
Our first stop is the historic town of Yungay around 7:00 am. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to experience local Andean life and opt for a traditional breakfast (not included in the tour price). Following this cultural interlude, we provide each traveler with a curated boxed lunch for later enjoyment.
As we enter the Huascarán National Park around 9:00 am, the journey becomes increasingly scenic. The park, known for its pristine lakes Chinancocha and Orconcocha, offers stunning vistas and a perfect photo opportunity against the backdrop of their turquoise waters.
The trek starts at Cebollapampa, marking the beginning of an 8 km hike through captivating landscapes towards the mesmerizing Laguna 69. Situated at an altitude of 4620 meters, this lagoon is a spectacle of alpine beauty, with its striking blue waters set against snow-covered peaks and surrounded by waterfalls.
Upon reaching Laguna 69, you’ll have approximately 30 minutes to revel in the beauty of your surroundings. Whether you choose to enjoy your boxed lunch, capture the scenery, or simply bask in the tranquility, this moment is sure to be a highlight of your trek.
As we commence our descent around 2:00 pm, the experiences of the day enrich our journey back to Cebollapampa and onwards to Huaraz, concluding an unforgettable day amidst the splendor of the Andes.
