Day 2: Trek from Chacachuco to the Kuychiccasa Pass and Ancascocha Lake

The descent to our lunch spot near Incaracay is a gentle one, filled with historical intrigue. The afternoon’s hike takes you through varied terrains to Paucarcancha, where you can explore ancient Inca terraces and stone structures, offering insights into the Incan agricultural methods. The day concludes with a delicious dinner, possibly featuring local Andean cuisine, at our campsite.

Day 4: Journey from Paucarcancha to Aguas Calientes via Ollantaytambo
On the final day of hiking, after breakfast, you’ll make your way to Km 82, walking a section of the celebrated Classic Inca Trail. Your guide will highlight the historical significance of the path, dotted with ancient sites and captivating stories. Conclude your hike with a fulfilling lunch at Km 82.
Post-lunch, we transport you to Ollantaytambo, an ancient town brimming with history. Here, board a scenic train to Aguas Calientes, a journey offering a new perspective on the landscapes you’ve traversed. As you approach Aguas Calientes, the scenery transforms to lush, verdant views, signaling your arrival at the gateway to Machu Picchu.
Once in Aguas Calientes, you have the option to relax in your hotel or rejuvenate in the famous hot springs. Enjoy a carefully chosen dinner at a local restaurant, sampling a variety of dishes that cater to every palate.

Your guide will lead a detailed 2-hour tour, sharing insights into the site’s historical significance and the brilliance behind its construction. After the tour, take some time to explore the ruins at your own pace.
