Day 1: Mollepata to Yanaq’aya Lookout – Soaring Above the Andean Clouds
Our journey begins with a warm pickup from your hotel, setting off on a scenic 3-hour drive to Mollepata. Perched at an elevation of 2870 meters, Mollepata offers a chance to mingle with locals and grab any last-minute essentials before we start our trek.
As we commence our hike at Soraypampa, at 3930 meters, you’re greeted by expansive views of verdant fields and the commanding mountain range. The trail takes us through Salkantaypampa, the gateway to the famed Salkantay trek, revealing stunning vistas of the Salkantay and Humantay mountains. Enjoy a refreshing lunch at Pampa Japonesa, surrounded by these snow-capped giants.
The afternoon’s trek to Inka Chiriaska is a challenging ascent, rewarding you with breathtaking views at 4959 meters. We conclude our day at Yanaq’aya lookout, setting up camp in a landscape that’s simply out of this world.

Day 2: Yanaq’aya Lookout to Yahuarmaky – A Journey Along Ancient Trails
With the dawn comes a nourishing breakfast, fueling you for the day’s trek. We follow ancient Inca paths, embarking on a journey back in time, traversing the Toqto Pass and Calacocha Pass. The unfolding landscape is a tapestry of natural beauty and historical richness.
Our path leads us through Cruz Casa and over Millpo Pass, descending to the quaint Millpo for a hearty lunch. Post-lunch, we ascend to Qosqueñaq pass and make our way down to Yahuarmaky. Here, we set up camp, enveloped in the tranquility of the Andes.

Day 3: Yahuarmaky to Ancascocha – A Day of High Passes and Incan Legacy

We begin with a steady climb to the Chusqenay Pass at 4630 meters, each step taking us deeper into the heart of the majestic Andes. The descent to Rumi Inca Pass and the ascent through the Yahuarmaky Valley envelop us in the raw beauty of the mountainous landscape.
The journey to Aqocasa Pass is not just a physical trek but a passage through time, unveiling spectacular views of the iconic Inca Trail and towering peaks such as Salkantay, Humantay, and Huacaywillka. Upon reaching the summit, the awe-inspiring panorama includes the ancient Incan site of Inca Raqay.
The day’s trek continues with a descent to Inca Rakay and a subsequent climb to Huaynanay Pass. The challenging yet rewarding day ends at our campsite in Ancascocha, nestled amidst these remarkable historical wonders.

Day 4: Ancascocha to Aguas Calientes – Transitioning to Lush Andean Landscapes

Our path from Ancascocha is adorned with native flora like chachacoma and qeuña trees, vibrant orchids, begonias, and bromeliads. The descent towards Camicancha is gentle and visually captivating, leading us to the small village of Chillca.
In Chillca, our trekking journey culminates, and we board the train for a scenic ride to Aguas Calientes. This relaxing journey offers a moment to reflect on our experiences and anticipate the excitement of visiting Machu Picchu. In Aguas Calientes, enjoy a celebratory dinner and a comfortable hotel stay, rejuvenating for the final day of our adventure.

Day 5: From Aguas Calientes to the Splendor of Machu Picchu and Return to Cusco

Begin your day with an early morning breakfast at your hotel in Aguas Calientes, followed by a short but scenic 25-minute bus ride up the winding mountain roads to Machu Picchu. This journey sets the stage for the awe-inspiring experience that awaits.
Upon arrival, you’re treated to a spectacular sunrise over the ancient citadel, casting a magical glow over the ruins. A 2-hour guided walking tour follows, where you’ll uncover the mysteries, marvel at the architectural ingenuity, and learn about the theories surrounding this enigmatic site. After the guided tour, you have the opportunity to explore the ruins at your own pace.
