Cusco – Cloud Forest – Pilcopata Lodge
Your journey begins early in the morning with a pickup from your hotel between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. Travel through the Andes in a comfortable bus, stopping to explore the Funerary Towers of Ninamarca at 3,750 meters above sea level. Continue to Paucartambo, a charming folkloric town, where you can admire its colonial bridge and learn about its cultural history.
Ascend to Acjanaco Pass, the highest point of the journey at 4,000 meters, marking the entrance to Manu National Park. Begin your descent into the lush Cloud Forest, home to vibrant flora such as orchids, heliconias, and ferns. On a guided walk, observe the iconic Cock-of-the-Rock during its mating ritual, as well as trogons, quetzals, monkeys, and possibly the elusive Spectacled Bear.
