Ollantaytambo – Start the Short Inca Trail (Chachabamba, Wiñay Wayna) – Aguas Calientes
Start your day with an early breakfast and transfer to KM 104, the starting point of the Short Inca Trail. Begin your trek by visiting Chachabamba, an archaeological site nestled amid lush greenery. Continue ascending along the Inca Trail, surrounded by breathtaking views of the Andean mountains.
The highlight of the day is Wiñay Wayna, a stunning Inca site with terraces and ceremonial structures perched dramatically on the mountainside. After exploring Wiñay Wayna, continue on the trail to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where you’ll catch your first glimpse of the magnificent Machu Picchu from above.
