Tour Itinerary

Explore our expertly designed itinerary below, crafted to showcase breathtaking views and provide unique adventures every step of the way.

Day Itinerary

Ica – Ballestas Islands – Paracas National Reserve – Ica

The tour begins around 6:45 AM with a convenient pickup from your hotel or bus station in Ica. Once all passengers are on board, we’ll set off towards Paracas in the Pisco Province, where the adventure begins. Arriving at the coastal district of Paracas, you’ll be taken to the port to board a speedboat for a scenic journey to the Islas Ballestas.

After receiving safety vests and a briefing from the crew, the boat departs for the famous islands. Along the way, you’ll stop in front of the Candelabra, a mysterious geoglyph carved into the hillside overlooking the bay. Here, your guide will share fascinating theories about the origins and purpose of this enigmatic symbol, with some linking it to the nearby Nazca Lines and others suggesting it was a navigational aid for sailors and pirates.

Continuing onward to the Islas Ballestas, you’ll encounter a spectacular display of wildlife. Seabird colonies, sea lions, and even Humboldt penguins inhabit these rocky islands, making it a memorable experience for wildlife enthusiasts. The boat tour will take you around the islands, passing caves and rock formations like the “Cristo” profile. You’ll have ample opportunities to take photos and enjoy the scenic marine landscapes. The entire boat tour lasts about two hours, including the journey to and from the islands.

Upon returning to Paracas, you’ll have free time to explore the artisan market, where you can browse and purchase local souvenirs, handicrafts, and snacks. Afterward, the tour continues with a scenic drive through the Paracas National Reserve. This protected coastal desert is known for its dramatic landscapes and unique biodiversity. The first stop is the Paracas Peninsula Viewpoint, offering a stunning panoramic view of the bay and the reserve’s expansive beauty.

The next destination is Playa Roja (Red Beach), a unique beach with volcanic red sand that contrasts beautifully with the surrounding desert and ocean. You’ll then proceed to Playa Lagunillas, where you can enjoy a break for lunch (at your expense) at one of the local beachside restaurants, famous for fresh seafood dishes. After lunch, you’ll have the option to take a refreshing swim in the calm waters of the Pacific Ocean.

The final stop of the day is Playa La Mina, a secluded and picturesque beach surrounded by dark volcanic rocks. Here, you can relax, swim, and soak in the natural beauty of the area. Playa La Mina, named for the coal deposits in the nearby hills, is a reminder of ancient volcanic activity that shaped the Peruvian coast.

By around 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM, the tour concludes with your return journey to Ica, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or bus station, ending a full day of exploration and adventure in one of Peru’s most captivating coastal regions.
