Day 1

Lima Airport/Bus Station – Arrival – Transfer to Hotel– City Tour

Welcome to Lima! Upon arrival at the airport, our team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, rest and prepare for your afternoon city tour.

At 3:00 PM, explore Lima’s historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Start at the Main Square, surrounded by landmarks such as the Archbishop’s Palace, City Hall, and the majestic Cathedral. Visit the Saint Francisco Monastery, known for its religious art and iconic catacombs.

Continue to San Martin Square, admire the exterior of Saint Dominic Convent, and marvel at the historic train station turned palace. Walk along the De la Union Pathway, cross the Rimac Bridge, and enjoy views of Lima’s wooden balconies. End your tour with stops at Cordano Bar and the Post Office Palace before returning to your hotel.

Day 2

Lima – Cusco – Cusco City Tour

Fly to Cusco in the morning, where our team will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the morning resting and acclimating to the altitude.

In the afternoon, start your guided city tour. Visit the Qorikancha Temple, a blend of Incan and colonial architecture. Continue to Sacsayhuamán, an imposing fortress with massive stonework, followed by Q’enqo, a ceremonial site, and Tambomachay, known as the Incan Baths. End your tour near the bustling Plaza de Armas.

Day 3

Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes

Day 4

As of June 1, 2024, new circuits and routes have been introduced at Machu Picchu to preserve the site and enhance visitor management. Upon booking your tour, we will immediately begin securing your Machu Picchu tickets, prioritizing Circuit 2, Route 2-A (Ruta Clásico Diseñada) for its iconic highlights and photo opportunities. If this route is unavailable, we will book the next best option to ensure an unforgettable experience. Please note that the Ministry of Culture’s system may take time to process reservations, so we recommend booking your tour well in advance. Day 5

Cusco – Rainbow Mountain – Cusipata – Cusco

Leave Cusco early at 4:00 AM and drive to Cusipata, where you’ll enjoy breakfast at a local restaurant. From there, embark on a guided hike to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), a spectacular natural wonder featuring vibrant mineral layers.

At the summit, take in panoramic views of the Andes. Descend to Cusipata for lunch before returning to Cusco in the early evening for a restful night.

Day 6

Cusco – Humantay Lake – Cusco

After approximately two hours of hiking, reach Humantay Lake, located at 4,200 meters (13,779 feet). Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, the lake’s turquoise waters offer breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. Spend time taking photos and enjoying the scenery before descending back to Soraypampa for lunch.

Return to Cusco in the evening for another overnight stay.

Day 7

Cusco – Puerto Maldonado – Lodge Introduction – Jungle Walk

From here, board a boat to the Monte Amazonico Lodge, where you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing fruit juice and a brief orientation. Settle into your room and enjoy a meal (breakfast or lunch, depending on your arrival time).

In the afternoon, embark on an introductory jungle walk guided by a local expert. Explore the dense tropical forest and observe a variety of wildlife, including amphibians, mammals, reptiles, and vibrant insects.

Day 8

El Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick – Kayaking on the Tambopata River

Rise early at 4:30 AM for an exciting boat ride to the El Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick, the world’s largest macaw clay lick. The 1.5-hour journey offers opportunities to spot wildlife along the riverbanks, such as capybaras, tapirs, and possibly even jaguars.

Upon arrival, witness a mesmerizing natural phenomenon as hundreds of parrots and macaws gather to feed on the clay wall. This colorful and vibrant scene is a highlight of the Amazon experience.

Return to the lodge for breakfast and some rest. In the afternoon, tour the botanical gardens to learn about medicinal plants and native fruit trees of the region. Then, enjoy an adventurous kayaking excursion along the Tambopata River, gliding silently to increase your chances of spotting wildlife.

Day 9

Monkey Island – Nocturnal Wildlife Search

After breakfast, take a boat ride to Monkey Island, located on the Madre de Dios River. This sanctuary is home to several species of monkeys, including capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, and saddleback tamarins. Spend time observing their playful behavior in their natural habitat.

Return to the lodge for lunch, followed by an afternoon hike in the surrounding forest. Marvel at towering trees over 500 years old and spot a variety of wildlife, including toucans, parrots, and monkeys.

As night falls, embark on a nocturnal wildlife safari along the riverbanks. Equipped with flashlights, search for white alligators resting on sandbanks and other nocturnal animals. Return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 10

Lake Sandoval Exploration – Night Walk

You may also spot endangered giant otters and large alligators.

Return to the lodge for a delicious Amazonian lunch. In the evening, join a night walk through the dense forest to discover its nocturnal wonders, including a variety of insects, amphibians, reptiles, and other creatures that come alive after dark.

Canopy Walkway – Return to Puerto Maldonado – Lima

After breakfast, board the boat back to Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival, transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima, marking the end of your incredible 11-day adventure through Peru.
