As we cruise toward the Uros Floating Islands, your bilingual guide will share fascinating stories and insights about the region, setting the stage for an enriching day ahead.
Upon arrival at the Uros Islands, you’ll step onto the remarkable floating islands, which are entirely constructed from totora reeds. These islands are home to a community that has maintained its traditional way of life for centuries. Over the next 45 minutes, you’ll explore the main island and visit 2-3 other smaller islands. Your guide will provide a deeper understanding of the Uros’ customs, from their unique reed boat construction to their sustainable living practices. If you wish, you can also enjoy a ride on a traditional reed boat, adding an extra layer of authenticity to your experience.
After exploring the Uros, we’ll continue our journey to the beautiful Taquile Island.
